Alabama Is Hungry Too!

Did you know that Alabama more than fifteen percent of us live in poverty? Food insecurity is a close link to poverty. People suffer from food insecurity and hunger when they do not have the money to purchase it. Thirteen percent of Alabama has either limited or uncertain access to enough food for a healthy life. I never would have thought that Alabama had thirteen percent of people that goes days without eating. This may sound ignorant but I thought that because I didn't have that problem then no one else did either. I was definitely wrong. If you are having that problem let me first say i am very sorry and there are a lot of good food drives and websites that can help you with this problem.

Hunger causes and effects

Hunger strikes everyone everywhere. People all over the world are affected by hunger desperation caused by various reasons. Reasons such as: low paying jobs, high housing costs, low benefit levels, lack of education and job skills and cuts in government assistance programs have converged to amplify poverty and hunger as major problems world wide. Helpful people often try to save the people with the issues I've just listed by organizing a food bank to help with one of the worlds biggest problems.The United States expects food prices to continue to rise through 2010 and then finally stabalize by 2015 at costs above 2006 levels. The food banks are trying their best to help but sometimes it's just not good enough.
